Students learn the essentials of visual non-fiction storytelling and train in the skills necessary for documentary and nonfiction filmmaking. Students learn the fundamentals of digital video filming, sound recording and editing. Students explore and experiment with creative modes of production while developing a unique and personal language with film.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the vocabulary of film
- Demonstrate proficiency with the tools and technology of filmmaking
- Demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions about representational and ethical matters in documentary and nonfiction filmmaking
- Create media and film
