The Associate of Arts in Film degree is intended for students seeking transfer to four-year colleges or universities. Students acquire the aesthetic and technical filmmaking skills to work individually or as part of a team while obtaining general education requirements. Students are encouraged to begin working with a film program advisor their first semester.

Program Learning Outcomes


Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Create media and film.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the vocabulary of film
  • Demonstrate structure, storytelling, and impact
  • Develop teamwork, collaboration, and professionalism
  • Respond to a diverse range of situations and texts with appropriate written, oral, visual, and other forms of communication using a variety of media

Mathematics (3-7 Credits Min.)


Laboratory Science (4-8 Credits)


The combined total of Mathematics and Laboratory Science areas should equal a minimum of 10 credits.

Social/Behavioral Sciences (3-6 Credits)


Humanities (3-6 Credits)


Creative and Fine Arts (3-6 Credits)


The combined total of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Humanities, and Creative and Fine Arts areas should equal 12 credit hours.
