This program allows students to develop a degree plan with an emphasis in the physical sciences. Students must work closely with their transfer institutions and their SFCC advisors to ensure the best transition to four-year schools.

Program Learning Outcomes


Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Formulate hypotheses used in scientific inquiry.
  • Test hypotheses experimentally using a variety of techniques.
  • Solve problems in the physical sciences (physics and chemistry) conceptually and quantitatively.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of concepts and information in the physical sciences.

Social/Behavioral Sciences (3-6 Credits)


Creative and Fine Arts (3-6 Credits)


Humanities (3-6 Credits)


The combined total of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Humanities and Creative and Fine Arts areas should equal 12 credit hours.
