The Associate of Arts in Film degree is intended for students seeking transfer to four-year colleges or universities. Students acquire the aesthetic and technical filmmaking skills to work individually or as part of a team while obtaining general education requirements. Students are encouraged to begin working with a film program advisor their first semester.

Program Learning Outcomes


Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Create media and film.
  • Respond to a diverse range of situations and texts with appropriate written, oral, visual and other forms of communication using a variety of media.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the vocabulary of film.
  • Demonstrate structure, storytelling, and impact.
  • Develop teamwork, collaboration, and professionalism.

Laboratory Science (4-8 Credits)


The combined total of Mathematics and Laboratory Science areas should equal a minimum of 10 credits.
