This program prepares students for positions in the criminal justice field or for transfer to four-year colleges or universities. Students must work closely with their transfer institutions and their SFCC advisers to ensure the best transition to four-year schools.

Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Evaluate policy-relevant questions and issues surrounding the various components of the criminal justice system: police, courts and corrections.
- Apply burdens of proof, criminal laws, constitutional requirements and criminal procedures.
- Compare and contrast of the purposes and functions of policing strategies in a democratic society.
- Identify the functions of criminal law and the judicial system in American society, inclusive of criminal procedure.
- Discuss the purposes and functions of the correctional system, inclusive of prisons, jails, community programs and restorative justice.

Laboratory Science (8 Credits)
The combined total of Mathematics and Laboratory Science areas should equal a minimum of 10 credits
Social/Behavioral Sciences (6 Credits)
Creative and Fine Arts (3 Credits)
Humanities (3-4 Credits)
Any foreign language Credits: 4 (Recommended)
The combined total of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Humanities and Creative and Fine Arts areas should equal 12 credit hours
