The Associate in Applied Science in General Studies allows students flexibility in creating plans around their core interests. Some concentrations are designed to prepare students for specific occupations. Other concentrations may transfer. Transferability of courses is determined by the receiving institution.
NOTE: A.A.S. degrees are designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in specific occupations; they are not generally intended to transfer to four-year institutions. For more information on transfer, refer to the Transfer of Credit section, or speak with an academic advisor.

Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge and modes of thinking related to the focus area(s).
- Demonstrate higher-order thinking skills such as interpretation, analysis, evaluation, synthesis, creative generation, and innovation related to the focus area(s).
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate to academic or professional audiences in written, oral, and/or digital forms as appropriate for the focus area(s).
- Demonstrate the ability to apply professional standards, practices, and competencies related to the focus area(s).
General Education Requirements: (20 Credits)
Communications (6 Credits)
Laboratory Science (4 Credits)
The combined total of Mathematics and Laboratory Science areas should equal a minimum of 10 credits.
Social/Behavioral Science or Creative and Fine Arts (3 Credits)
Humanities (3 Credits)
The combined total of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Humanities and Creative and Fine Arts areas should equal 12 credits hours.
Health and Wellness (1 Credit)
Program Requirements: (24 Credits)
Must complete any 3 credit hour internship, capstone, or practicum related to the area(s) of focus/concentration(s).
