An Associate in Arts of Business Administration is for students intending to transfer to bachelor’s degree programs in business administration, accounting, marketing, or business management. The courses in this AA degree are patterned after the lower-division courses at New Mexico four-year colleges so students take required general education courses and first and second year business courses. Students are advised to work closely with the transfer school and SFCC advisers to ensure the best transition to a four-year school.

Program Learning Outcomes


Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Read, analyze, and interpret financial statements 
  • Describe relevant elements of the American legal system and their impact on business
  • Apply key economic concepts to the evaluation of relationships among individuals, businesses, and government entities
  • Describe functions of management, including both fiscal and social responsibilities
  • Apply relevant technology and informational literacy to communication processes
