MATT 120 - Advanced Manual Lathes
Credits: 2
Addresses advanced turning techniques outlined in the ANSI/NIMS (Approved American National Standard/National Institute for Metalworking Skills) standards and gives the student additional hands-on time working with the manual lathe. Topics include tapered turning, precision threading and thread inspection, advanced boring and internal turning and finishing techniques. This course satisfies ANSI/NIMS requirements for machinists.
Prerequisite(s): MATT 114 .
Corequisite(s): MATT 121 .
Offered: Spring.
One lecture hour, two lab hours.
