ADOB 1118 - Preservation Practices
Credits: 3
[Previously offered as: ADOB 118] The techniques of preservation, conservation, stabilization, restoration, remodeling, modernization and repurposing of adobe buildings. Consideration is also given to constructing additions to existing buildings. Topics include surveying and assessing existing buildings and the development of preservation plans. The US Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Preservation are discussed along with the New Mexico Code for Historical Earthen Buildings. Safety around old buildings is emphasized.
