CIST 1115 - Principles of Computer Science Information Systems
Credits: 4
[Previously offered as: ISCS 111] This course is an introduction to the fundamental concepts and terminology in the computing field, including computer history, algorithms, computer architecture, programming languages, applications, social issues, and ethics. It covers both computer science and computer information systems and aims to prepare students for further studies in these disciplines. Students should have prior knowledge of basic computer usage and software, such as MS Word and the Internet. Additionally, the course may cover topics such as problem-solving, computer organization, and information assurance.
Offered: Fall and Spring.
Two lecture hours, four lab hours.
