PHED 1910 Sec C - Outdoor Experience: Beginning Nordic Skiing

[Previously offered as: HPER 157L] Introduction and development of basic skills and knowledge essential to Nordic skiing. The class includes diagonal stride, skating, uphill strategies, wedge turns and Telemark stance. It covers trail skiing strategies and experience, basic first aid and safety, equipment maintenance, map reading and orienteering, and basic survival and rescue skills. May be taken twice for degree or certificate credit.
