MAST 1125L - Medical Assistant Laboratory Procedures I

[Previously offered as: MAST 125] An introduction to diagnostic procedures routinely performed in the medical office laboratory setting. This course will cover CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments), waived hematology, chemistry, immunology, and microbiology testing. Federal Laboratory guidelines, quality control, and laboratory safety are also presented. Students learn to prepare patients for procedures, visits, and exams, with proper patient intake.

Permission required.
Graded: Letter Grade.
Corequisite(s): MAST 1115  and MAST 1540 .
Offered: Fall and Spring.
Four lecture hours.
