PHLS 1150 - Community Health Worker Training

[Previously offered as: HLCR 115] An introductory course that trains students to become community health workers (CHW) who assist individuals and communities in adopting and maintaining positive health behaviors. Topics include the roles of the CHW, adult learning principles, and skill development in such areas as advocacy, health coaching and leadership development. Program completion enables students to qualify for the New Mexico state certification for CHWs.
Graded: Letter Grade.
Corequisite(s): PHLS 1160 .
