MASS 1370L - Sports Massage Therapy I Lab


Credits: .5

Introduces massage therapy students to sports massage therapy techniques working with athletes at community events. Identifies techniques specific to treating athletes and active individuals before, during and after races. Assessing and applying appropriate techniques to enhance performance in athletic events. Practice a variety of techniques such as stretching, range of motion, tapotement and vibration to clothed individuals at sports events. Students will also participate in the set up and tear down of tents, tables and massage chairs before and after full day or multi-day sports events in New Mexico.

Permission required.
Graded: Letter Grade.
Offered: Fall and Spring.
One lab hour.
